Active ingredient: amoxicillin (in the form of trihydrate).
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Vetrimoxin L.A. is an antibacterial drug of prolonged action of a group of semi-synthetic penicillins.
Amoxicillin trihydrate, which is part of the drug, has a wide spectrum of bactericidal action against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Actynomycesspp., Bacillusantracis, Clostridiumspp., Corynebacteriumspp., Erysipelothrixrhusiopathiae, Listeriamonocytogenes, Staphylococcusspp., Streptococcusspp ., Actinobacillusspp., E.coli, Salmonellaspp., Fusobacteriumspp., Haemophilusspp., Moraxellaspp., Pasteurellaspp., Proteusmirabilis, Leptospiraspp.
The mechanism of action of amoxicillin is a violation of the formation of the cell wall of microorganisms, which leads to their death.
With parenteral use of amoxicillin, trihydrate is well absorbed from the injection site and penetrates into most organs and tissues of the animal, reaching the highest concentration in muscles, liver and kidneys. The maximum concentration in the blood is reached 1-2 hours after administration of Vetrimoxin L.A., and remains at the therapeutic level for 48 hours. Amoxicillin is able to penetrate the brain and bone fluid to a small extent, except in cases when the meninges are inflamed. It is excreted from the body mainly with urine and partially with bile, mostly in unchanged form.

Vetrimoxin L.A. is used in cattle, sheep and pigs for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, respiratory tract infections, genitourinary system (cystitis, metritis), mastitis, postoperative and wound infections, skin and soft tissue diseases (including umbilical infections), atrophic rhinitis, mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome and other primary and secondary infections of bacterial etiology, the pathogens of which are sensitive to amoxicillin.
METHOD OF APPLICATION AND DOSAGE
Vetrimoxin L.A. is applied to cattle, sheep and pigs intramuscularly or subcutaneously at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of animal mass (15 mg of active substance per 1 kg of animal mass). The drug is administered once, if necessary, repeated after 48 hours.
If the administered dose of the drug exceeds 20 ml, it is recommended to inject it in several injections at different points.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
In the treatment of animals, Vetrimoxin L.A. should not be used simultaneously with thiamphenicol, chloramphenicol, penicillin group antibiotics, cephalosporins and fluoroquinolones, as well as mixing it in one syringe with other medications.
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 28 days after the last application of Vetrimoxin L.A. Meat of animals forcibly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals.
Milk of dairy animals is allowed to be used for food purposes no earlier than 96 hours after the last administration of the drug.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE CONDITIONS
The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions in the manufacturer’s closed packaging, is 2 years from the date of manufacture, after opening the package – no more than 28 days.
The drug is stored in a closed manufacturer’s packaging in a dry, light-protected place, separate from food and feed, at a temperature from 5 ° C to 25 ° C.
