Toltrazuril suspension 5% for oral administration

Active substance: toltrazuril.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Sevazuril 5% belongs to the anticoccidium drugs of the triazinone group.

Toltrazuril, which is part of the drug, has a coccidiocidal effect at all stages of intracellular development (merogonia and gamogonia) of coccidia parasitizing pigs (Isospora suis and Eimeria spp.).

After oral administration of Sevazuril, 5% toltrazuril is slowly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, reaching a maximum concentration in blood plasma after 24 hours. Bioavailability is 70%. Toltrazuril is excreted slowly (half-life of about 76 hours) unchanged and as the main metabolite of sulfonic acid, mainly with feces.

INDICATIONS

Sevazuril 5% is used in piglets for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in coccidiosis.

METHOD OF APPLICATION AND DOSAGE

Sevazuril 5% is applied to piglets aged 3-5 days individually orally once at a dose of 0.4 ml / kg, which corresponds to 20 mg / kg of toltrazuril. It is recommended to process all piglets in the litter at the same time.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

The slaughter of piglets for meat is allowed no earlier than 77 days after the application of Sevazuril 5%.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE CONDITIONS

Sevazuril 5% is stored in a tightly closed manufacturer’s packaging in a dry, light-protected place, at a temperature from 0oC to 25oC.

The shelf life of Sevazuril 5%, subject to storage conditions in a closed package, is 2 years from the date of production, after opening the bottle
