Inactivated emulsified vaccine against avian reovirus tenosynovitis
It is made from the culture fluid of fibroblasts of SPF embryos of chickens infected with the causative agent of avian reovirus tenosynovitis (strains “S-1133”, “2408”, “SS412”) inactivated with formaldehyde, with the addition of an oil adjuvant (0.275 ml), buffer component, glycine (no more than 7.0 g/l), preservatives: thiomersal (no more than 0.1 g/l), gentamicin sulfate (no more than 30 mcg/ml) and amphotericin B (no more than 2.5 mcg/ml).
Features
The vaccine causes the formation of an immune response in chickens to the causative agent of avian reovirus tenosynovitis 21 days after a single application, which persists throughout the egg-laying period (at least 42 weeks) and is transmitted to offspring from vaccinated parents.
The vaccine is harmless, has no medicinal properties.
Indications
The vaccine is intended for the prevention of reovirus tenosynovitis of birds in breeding and commercial poultry farms in various areas of cultivation.
METHOD OF APPLICATION AND DOSAGE
The vaccine is administered once in a volume of 0.5 ml subcutaneously into the dorsal surface of the middle or lower third of the neck. The chicken is fixed by the neck exactly at the base of the head, the fold of skin in this area is gently lifted with the thumb and forefinger. The needle is inserted in the caudal direction (from the head), avoiding its contact with the skin, muscles, vertebrae.
Before use, the vaccine is kept for 2-3 hours at a temperature of 20oC-22oC. During vaccination, the vaccine bottle is periodically shaken to restore the uniformity of the emulsion.
For vaccination, conventional or semi-automatic syringes and needles are used, which are sterilized by boiling for 15-20 minutes. It is allowed to use disposable syringes. It is not allowed to use chemical disinfectants for sterilization of instruments. The injection site is treated with 70% alcohol or other disinfectant.
To create a more intense immune response, it is recommended to vaccinate poultry with a live vaccine against avian reovirus tenosynovitis at least 4 weeks in advance.
