Colivet refers to antibacterial drugs of the group of polypeptide antibiotics (E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Aerobacter aerogenes., Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Pasteurella spp., Bacteroides spp., Erysipclotrix spp., etc.)
The mechanism of bactericidal action of colistin is the destruction of the structure of phospholipids of the cell membrane, which causes the death of the microorganism. Colistin is excreted from the body mainly in unchanged form with feces.
According to the degree of exposure to the body according to GOST 12.1.007-76, the drug belongs to hazard class 4 (low-hazard substances).
indications
Colivet is prescribed to calves, pigs, rabbits and farm birds for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in colibacteriosis, salmonellosis and other gastrointestinal diseases caused by gram-negative microorganisms sensitive to polypeptide antibiotics.
METHOD OF APPLICATION AND DOSAGE
Kolivet is used individually or in a group way orally with feed or water for drinking in the following daily doses:
calves and pigs: 0.5 – 0.8 g of powder per 10 kg of animal weight (divided into 2 doses);
poultry and rabbits: 0.5 – 0.8 g of powder per 10 kg of animal weight or 5 – 8 g per 10 liters of water (assuming an average daily water consumption of 100 ml / kg of body weight).
The duration of treatment of animals is 3 days, with salmonellosis – 5 days.
With a group method of application during the entire period of treatment, animals and farm poultry should receive only water containing the drug.
For all types of animals, a fresh solution of the drug is prepared daily.
contraindications
Contraindication to the use of Colivet is an individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug. It is forbidden to use the drug in adult ruminants with developed cicatricial digestion.
expiration date
The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 3 years from the date of manufacture, after dilution in water – 72 hours.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
The drug is stored in a closed manufacturer’s packaging in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature from 0 ° C to 25 ° C.

Kolivet is produced packaged in tin cans, laminated foil bags or paper bags with an inner polyethylene shell.
